Downtown Abbey
Downtown Abbey is a drama series that is set in ta fictional place called Downtown Abbey. Along with it, the series created other fictional locations including the Yorkshire Country House of the Earl and the Countess of Graham. The story line follows the lives of the Crawley Family and their hardships and triumphs, as well as the lives of their servants who've worked for them. The era is set in a time after declaration of the Great War by King George V. It provides an excellent insight into the lives and nuances of the British aristocracy during that period. It also shows how changes in society has started to affect that lifestyle. The second series and the latest one to air premiered last year in September 18 and comprised of only eight episodes. With huge awards including 2010 Best Drama series and Best Writer for Julian Fellowes, Downtown Abbey is definitely a must see TV series.

Boardwalk Empire
Boardwalk Empire is a US-based TV series exclusive from cable network HBO. The story line is set in Atlantic City, New Jersey during the prohibition era. It stars a corrupt treasurer of Atlantic County and the most powerful political figure of the region named Enoch Nucky Thompson who is played by Steve Buscemi.
The TV series was inspired by Emmy Award winning producer and screenwriter Terence Winter, known for his work such as The Sopranos. The series is loosely based from a historical book about a criminal kingpin in the name of Enoch Nucky Johnson.
Boardwalk is a truly must-see TV series due to its critically acclaimed story line, its historical precision, as well as a great performance by veteran actor Steve Buscemi.
The Fades
The Fades is a supernatural TV drama series being broadcast on BBC Three and BBC HD in Britain. The first series and episodes of The Fades aired last September 2011. The story line of the series focuses on an English teenager named Paul who is frequently tormented by apocalyptic dreams that no one can explain.
Paul is haunted by spirits of the dead, known as Fades, which cannot be seen, felt, or heard by other humans other than Paul and a mysterious group of people who call themselves "Angelics." It is a tense, gripping and thrilling piece of drama with a very intriguing plot.
Paul Roberts is played by Lain De Caestecker. Other characters in the series include Michael Mac Armstrong, Paul's best friend, who is portrayed by Daniel Kaluuya and Neil Valentine, who is Paul's mentor and an Angelic, and portrayed by Johnny Harris.

The Big Bang Theory
If you consider yourself a tech geek, "nerd" or science enthusiast and wants to have a couple of good laughs watch the Big Bang Theory.The four lead characters of the series are employed at Caltech's science department. The cerebral humor of this American TV sitcom will appeal to a large swath of people who enjoy video games, role playing games, science, experiments, comic books, action figures, etc.
With an impressive high rating since it aired and tons of science-related jokes, intelligent and sarcastic lines and interesting episodes, the TV series is perfect to watch any day.
Changing Times by Iwan Rheon(He's the lead actor of Misfits)
Misfits
This British Sci-Fi drama TV series tells about a group of young juveniles who are forced to serve time doing community service and one day obtain supernatural abilities following a strange electrical storm.
The story revolves around five young individuals, namely Kelly who gains the power to see what others are thinking, Curtis who can go back in time, Alisha who sends people into a sexual frenzy when they come into contact with her skin, Simon (Iwan Rheon) who has the power to be invisible and Nathan who is immortal.
Anyone who loves a cool Sci-Fi series with dark humor and compelling dramatic plot and sub-plots can get a couple of enjoyable evenings watching Misfits.
My all time favorites: 24 and Spooks. Honorable mentions are: The Good Wife, Community and Walking Dead. Enjoy!
