One cannot deny the scenic beauty of Austria. From some, they may have witnessed this in the film “Sound of Music.” The rolling hills and the majestic alpine landscape. However, Austria has more than just scenic landscapes to offer prospective visitors. It is a country rich in history and steeped in culture. For those planning to visit this lovely country, you might want to make sure that these three cities: Vienna, Salzburg and Halstatt, is in your itinerary. The beauty of these 3 cities are quite compelling.

Vienna, Austria

Vienna, the capital city of Austria, has a rich ancient history. The essence of its history can be witnessed by viewing the palaces of the Habsburg, the waltz and the city's splendid melodious past which served as a home to many of the great classical composers. The city is home to a number of young musicians as well; a leisure walk in the evening may allow you to hear new compositions from these busy musicians. Vienna is a heaven for music lovers, hear some exquisite tunes while walking down the street where you'll find groups of musicians playing and make your evening a delightful one. These skilled musicians are specially dressed to impress even the monks. Only concern while planning to travel to Vienna is the high cost as it is an expensive city. Those who plan to stay here for long should have enough amounts in their banks to support their visit.

Salzburg, Austria

For me, the most attractive and appealing city in Austria is Salzburg, and I never miss the chance to visit this city. Salzburg is the place to which the famous composer Mozart belongs. The city is simple and calm. Shopping opportunities are remarkable and you may feel short of money as shopping at Salzburg is very tempting. You can enjoy its traditional drinks, the famous rose garden and of course, the opera.

Halstatt, Austria

Halstatt is a small village in the Alps. Halstatt is just an hour’s drive away from Salzburg. Catching a train is the best possible way, as it will leave you at a perfect lake in the Alps. Relax in a small hut by the lake and soon Halstatt will welcome you by sending a ferry to pick you up. The ferry will take you to ancient Halstatt. This city is very close to its original state and you will feel the real essence of history. Friendly locals, affordable prices and the romantic atmosphere of this city will catch your interest. If planning for a short honeymoon, Halstatt is your destination
